Between the FREMM and the C Sword 90 the French are building some fantastic smaller combatant ships. The French President recently visited Canada and there were rumors of top level discussions about a potential FREMM design for the Canadian Frigate replacement program. I hope we're taking these guys seriously because they are building some fine ships for the right price.
Rather than all this talk I've heard about Canada potentially by the French "Russian" Mistrals as some kind of capital ship which would be a huge drain on resources. I would rather see us go for numbers with FREMM variants and even C Sword 90 type ships where we could have smaller crew compliments but with a hard hitting capability.
