    1. Yes, the soldier has died from his wounds. He was a ceremonial soldier at the National War Memorial, which has the Tomb of Unknown Soldier as a centerpiece to the memorial.
It commemorates all the Canadian Soldiers and personnel that have given the ultimate sacrifice in WW1, WW2, Korean War, and Afghanistan.

  2. The response?
    More gun control in Canada.
I see this escalating with the number of Islamic fighters returning.
What do they hope to gain? Do they seriously believe this will stem Canadian's from sending troops?
Stop Canadian's from being soldiers or even if it's retribution in any great way.

    1. Fear... maybe they think Canadians will react like Spain. True the Spaniards were hit a loot harder but the terrorists archive it's goals, Spain pull out forces and don't send them to fight with terrorists from that time, right?

    2. Spain: That's true it stopped their efforts cold.
But, Canadian's are a different breed.
Slow to anger but it won't take much to push them into some action.
Attacking soldiers doing Memorial and Ceremonial guard will anger many Canadian's.
Scaring shit out of Parliament will do more to anger the government to cement their power.
I have faith the Canadian's won't scare this easy and may just harden them to their plight on Islamic immigration stupidity.
It may take a change of government though.

  3. IF, A terrorist or just a nutcase ran up and shot the guards at the Tomb of the unknown soldier here, what would be the response?
I know the current administration would go into full apology mode and spew hot air to the four winds but would the American people simply stand and allow it go un answered? Would the people cut and run?

  4. I'd bet money it's a lonewolf wannabe using some sort of fatwah from some asshat.

It's the next permutation of terrorism from small-cell supporting hjjacker or bombers to lone gunman trying to inflict as much damage he can before he is stopped. You can't guard every school, hospital, gov't building or seat of government.

  5. Canada will not wither and back away. This will likely "steel" the resolve even more.

Yesterday, six CF-18 fighters left the Cold Lake air base in Alberta, en route to Kuwait.
