What I do know is that I've seen plenty of Arabs marched off to their deaths without any resistance. I've seen instances where they sit calmly while their throats are being sliced, sit patiently while their murderer is preparing to shoot them in the back of the head, etc...

Foley was in captivity for so long that the cultural curiosity that appears to be seen in the Arab population transferred to him. That's why he didn't struggle. That's why he didn't fight back even though his life was on the line.
In a documentation issued by the organization last week, Foley is seen on his knees, speaking to the camera and executed afterwards. The footage goes blurry as the execution begins and it is possible to see the militant slashing his throat with the knife.I don't know.
Experts that watched the documentation say they encountered three main questions that arise from it. The first issue is the blood missing from the footage entirely. They argue that we should have seen blood pouring from his neck out of the main arteries.
Another puzzling issue relates to the sound track of the documentation, as just before the execution a "bleep" sound can be heard, which may imply that the militant was required to perform a re-recording of some of his remarks.
The third issue, which affects the entire video’s reliability, is the calmness of Foley, who seems like he is not upset by the fact he will be executed in the next few minutes.

Someone somewhere said, They staged this execution every day so he grew confident it was only a sham, they told him they were faking it for ransom.

Drugs, there are drugs some as common as Ambien or Sonata that induce an amnesia like trance where you simply get zombied into compliance.
A quick stick down into the throat cutting the arteries deep inside makes the blood flow into the body, sucked down by screaming and drawing a breath.
A certain bend of the neck cuts off blood flow also.
To silence screams a cut to the voice box.
I recall when Daniel Pearl was beheaded the same was said, he didn't bleed, did not struggle and did not scream.
Those in the know understand the best way to kill with a knife is the coup de gras of the Gladiator, down the right or left side of the throat and deep into the chest.
I think this was as real as it got, though I have not seen the video I have seen other's, the skill of the killer seems to make the difference in blood flow and struggles.
Perhaps it was censors here who made the video uncertain as opposed to the killers.
Hell, I saw a Mexican drug cartel video where two men tied together were killed, one with a chain saw and he sat and watched as the saw hit him, he died instantly and the amazing thing is, the guy tied to him sat there and watched being sprayed with flesh and blood as his pal was beheaded by that saw, then he sat while they cut his throat all calm as hell.

Shock is the most likely cause, imo. You simply don`t expect this kind of brutality until it happens to you.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the previous videos by ISIS showed the same all around scenario..... no struggle, little blood, screams in some but not in others... and you don`t see anyone raising and eyebrow and doubting their veracity.
Nothing cultural about it ,just look at the WW2 footage ,it seems to be just the way it is and has been thousands of years.Most soldiers in ancient and medieval times were not lost in direct combat but to a slaughter that occoured once they started fleeing or after the city feel when ransacking bagan ,that is why there is huge dispartiy in casualties to the waring sides in many battles.
ReplyDeleteAnd for nutjobs who have seen to many motivational posters ,iraq army and ISIS is the perfect case that negates idea that armed people can't be rounded up and murdered en masse ,all these iraqis were soldiers that just drooped their guns and gave up to an enemy force fraction of their size.

DeleteI think part of it is cultural. Westerns haven't beheaded people since the French revolution. That left such a bad taste in our mouths we still deplore it almost 200 some odd years later.
Having said that, I do agree that the lack of "shock" by the people doesn't surprise me. I saw an interview of a WW2 Navy vet who said that they used to take the body parts of the kamikaze pilots and make souvenirs out of them.
I mean't also victims in reprisals and mass shootings in WW2 photos you find show total resignation no struggle.
